For the past 30 Years Coogan Bergin has specialised in Electrolysis for permanent hair removal and we are Dublin’s leading experts in this field.
Electrolysis – Apilus
Electrolysis is the only permanent method to remove unwanted hair no matter what the hair colour, the texture or the extent of the growth. Laser which has gained in popularity cannot treat hairs that are red, fair or grey and indeed it does not treat the small fine hairs at all and many of our referrals come from the Laser clinics who need us to ‘finish off’ for clients in areas that they cannot succeed in.
We treat both Men & Women on all areas of the Face & Body and many of our clients are referred through the medical field due to the specialist skills required for a successful and lasting result.
We work with the Apilus system for Electrolysis. This system allows for more accurate and fast treatment with a higher degree of comfort for the client and we have many happy clients who will testify to the outstanding results we have achieved for them, using this method.
Our highly qualified therapists are happy to discuss your individual needs and help you choose the most suitable course of treatment including recommendations for the frequency of your visits in order to achieve the results you want. All treatments are carried out in absolute privacy in extremely comfortable and hygienic surroundings.
We allow 30 minutes for your consultation and this includes your first treatment as that is an essential part of the process so that we can estimate hair type, depth of follicle, stage of growth and also to gauge the skins reaction to the treatment along with finding the optimal comfort level for the individual client.
The initial consultation is €30 and it includes a 15 Minute treatment.

SKIN TAGS from €30.00
Skin tags are small growths that hang off your skin. They’re common and harmless, but can be removed if they’re bothering you. Skin tags are small, soft, skin-coloured growths on your skin. They can vary in colour and size – from a few millimetres up to 5cm wide.
Skin tags are usually found on the neck, armpits, around the groin, or under the breasts. They can also grow on the eyelids or under the folds of the buttocks.
They can look like warts, but skin tags are usually:
- smooth and soft (warts tend to be rougher with an irregular surface)
- knobbly and hang off the skin (warts are usually slightly raised or flat)
- not contagious (warts spread very easily, so a sudden outbreak or cluster of growths is more likely to be warts)
Skin tags do not usually cause any pain or discomfort.
WHITEHEAD REMOVAL (MILIA) from €15.00
Milia are tiny cysts that form under the skin, usually on the face. Because milia are just a cosmetic issue, the choice to treat them or not is up to you. Treatment isn’t necessary and they can go away on their own over time. If milia bother you, though, treatments can improve them.
Keep in mind that other things can cause white bumps on the skin. Unless you’re 100% sure it’s milia, you may want to have your bumps checked out by your doctor or we can look at it and advise accordingly .
The most effective treatment for milia is manual extraction done by an experienced electrologist or skin therapist. Also, the results are immediate.
Making a tiny opening in the surface of the skin with a small surgical blade called a lancet the hard plug of material is then gently pushed out through the opening with the fingers or a tool called a comedone extractor. It may sound like a painful procedure, but it’s not. No anesthetic is needed; at worst, you’ll feel a prick.
Because milia form under a thin layer of skin and not in a pore, there is no opening in the skin to squeeze the plug out. Never try to pop or otherwise extract milia. It won’t work, and it can cause infection, serious skin damage, and even permanent scarring.
