Meet The Team
Sheila CurranPrincipal & Director of Coogan Bergin Beauty Clinic and College
Sheila qualified as a CIDESCO Therapist in 1981 and from the very beginning her interest was both in the teaching as well as the practice of the discipline. Her interest in Cosmetic Science brought her to France and it was there that she began a journey of discovery in the world of Spa and advanced treatments. Upon her return to Ireland she started a distribution company supplying the emerging Irish Beauty Industry with product and equipment. She placed an enormous emphasis on the training side of the business and soon developed a reputation as one of the leading therapists in Ireland and her master classes were sought after by all. Over the years her company grew and she won many awards including 'Best Trainer', Best Supplier' and an award as an 'Outstanding Innovator' in the Irish Beauty arena. Her knowledge of the Spa industry, that she had learned during her time in France meant she was perfectly positioned to play a leading role in the emerging Spa Market of the early 2000's. In her role as Spa Consultant she was a key player in the design, build and operations of some of the best known spas and counts the Villa Spa at Killashee House, The K. Spa, Seoid Spa at Dunboyne Castle and the Spa at Mount Wolseley amongst the many projects she worked on. She also worked with Failte Ireland as an independent consultant, assisting them in the development of a Best Practices guideline for the industry as well as being an assessor of various Spa hotel properties as part of a classification process. In 2009 Sheila took over Coogan Bergin and she has brought to it the many years of experience she gained working in all aspects of the business. The renovations in 2010 are a culmination of the many ideas she took from the spa sector and the college and clinic are fitted out to the very 'best practice' standards, possible. Sheila has a very hands on approach to the business and whilst she does not work actively as a therapist or tutor she does step into these roles whenever needed and feels this is really important as it keeps her in tune with the students and clients as well as connected to the team.
